I. The Philosophy
Head & Heart is a conscious training practice, using the context of the gym as a way to learn, refine and improve on aspects of oneself both inside and outside of the facility.
Head & Heart is the practice of thinking with feeling to facilitate self-awareness and change.
Head & Heart requires that an athlete tune in – to become aware of physical sensations and internal dialogue, and use these metrics to inform performance. There is a cerebral/thinking aspect, and also an intuitive/feeling aspect.
Head & Heart is a perpetual process because The Practice continually changes to reflect the athlete’s level of awareness.
Head & Heart is the conscious training practice of thinking with feeling. But Head & Heart is also far more than that.
II. The Practice
The Practice is a process. It is dynamic and ever-changing; a constantly evolving organism.
The Practice is the becoming; a publication of effort. There is no final product.
The Practice is the point; it is the outcome. Not the six pack or performance record – supplementary by-products.
The Practice is consistent; a relentless pursuit. It is ad Infinium and endless; not a 12 week challenge.
The Practice is a waking. It is a proliferation of awareness; a thinking… a feeling.
The Practice is an experiment; a willingness to fail; to be wrong; humbled.
The Practice is an authentic integration. It is not read, taught or learned; only experienced.
The Practice is an embodied philosophy. It is an examined and considered lifestyle.
The Practice is individual; it is a unique and subjective expression of a truth.
The Practice is a balance. It is energy between dualities; the Head and the Heart.
