The sticking point isn’t physical.
Not the 2 inches off the chest in a bench press.
Nor the bottom of the hole in a squat.
The sticking point isn’t physical.
It’s psychological.
One’s inability to recognise and address weakness.
The sticking point is psychological.
A lack of awareness; a deficiency in a knowledge of self.
Most would just rather train the physical.
Floor Press for the bench press.
Anderson Squat for the squat.
So as to fortify these lifts.
This is easier than holding up a mirror.
And thus, the common path.
Alas, the bar may now move smoothly.
But the sticking point is still there.
Not just the physical.
Until one addresses the psychological.
It will collude and cajole and masquerade.
The sticking point is the self.
It needs to be confronted.
If it ever is to be dissolved.
